I am troubled by the volley lesson that demonstrates taking a step backward after finishing the volley. In stepping to the top of the triangle, instead of continuing forward, the demonstration shows the player stepping back after the volley.

I fully support the step to the top on the triangle. However, I prefer that players continue forward establishing a new triangle base at the volley completion.

You make a valid point. That demonstration is simply intended to point out the creation of the step on both sides and was spliced to show one after the other.
