When I first started playing tennis way back when, I always was fascinated by the fact that tennis was equal parts science, art and philosophy. It was more of a sublime proposition then it is today. A blending of the finer points of being a human being and participating in an activity. There was no finer example...except perhaps in golf. Nowadays the emphasis is on speed and this is often mistaken for power. Discussions such as this one become almost pornographic with the fascination of speed and the generation of speed.
A fascinating example of this was being played out yesterday at Wimbledon, until Grigor Dimitrov was forced to withdraw due to injury.
