  • How to reduce your unforced errors.

    Tip of the day:

Most unforced errors (ue) happen due to core/unit turn/energy loading and unloading. Unit turn early, with relaxed energy. Coil early. Uncoil smoothly even under pressure. Make sure you defend your arced contact point. Make sure the bevel of the frame at grip is the right angle at take back. Make sure you hit the ball in the right part of the string bed. Make sure you maintain a fast body energy yet smooth no matter how slow the incoming shot. Make sure you let low balls come into your body closer, and the higher the ball is, the farther out in front you contact it.

An error is going to happen if you make a mistake in any of these areas, even if all other are done correctly.

If the energy is stiff such as occurs when you are placed under pressure, ie, on the run or forced to pass, or given too much time on a slow ball, the ue count goes up on stiffer.slower/more rigid coils/uncoils.

The goal is no more ues by focusing on your coils/uncoils and the energy used to do so. So that when you are accurate on defending contact point with smooth, relaxed and fast energy, you stop making so many ue errors. If you want your opponent to make errors, put him under slower shot and emergency shot coils.
