    Sise by side video analysis is dependent upon selecting the correct role model for the subject to emulate based on a number of variables that a coach (or self -coached adult) should consider like strength, flexibility, speed endurance, patience, etc. Once the model is chosen, then video differences exhibited by the subject in key checkpoints are analyzed. John has done all the heavy lifting by providing the archived pro video library along with his exhaustive research in finding the common checkpoints. Subject differences from the model may be a result of omissions or additions in the movement. How do you prioritize addressing the key checkpoints? Here are a few choices:
    1. By sequence of movement- focus on a checkpoint early in the movement which will likely affect later checkpoints in the movement
    2.Simplest checkpoint- focusing on the easiest checkpoint to emulate first may give early confidence and compliance in practice
    3.Most difficult checkpoint- focusing on most difficult checkpoint first may result in greatest gains

    Prioritization is individualized. Significant positive results often times don’t appear until two or more checkpoints have been achieved. This can be a juncture where paralysis by analysis can occur. Coaching( or self coaching) now becomes an ART form only gained with experience. This is what I taught in my university qualitative sports skill analysis class. Coaches.......does this hold true for tennis?
