James Fawcette has photographed professional tennis for 18 years. His photos of top and upcoming tennis professionals have appeared in books, newspapers and, of course, on web sites including TennisPlayer.net. These range from Pat Cash’s Tennis 101 blog to the award winning book Tennis Players as Works of Art, from Inside Tennis magazine to the French language book Tennis Optimisation de la Performance. Fawcette has also done photography for the Golden Gate Open tennis tournament as well as the charity East Palo Alto Tennis and Tutoring.
Fawcette’s business and publishing background includes: Founding Fawcette Technical Publications Inc, which ran conferences on software development from Sydney to Berlin, and from Tokyo to London. Speakers included such software notables as Bill Gates, Dr. Jim Gray (creator of TerraForm, which presaged all online navigation software), Steve Ballmer, Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, prominent Chinese Ai researcher and investor, and Marc Benioff. Fawcette was also Executive Editor of Personal Computing Magazine, and Editor in Chief of InfoWorld. He founded Fawcette-McGrath, an early online data vendor focused on international trade.
Jim is the proud owner of a rudimentary, one-handed backhand.
