Welcome to the May issue of tennisplayer.net – all about the next big things in junior tennis.
This is an incredibly rich topic. Be it a boy eager to play one spot higher on his high school team, a girl gearing up for several tournaments, a coach looking for new answers, or parents trying to help support their children as effectively as possible, the world of junior tennis teems with ambition and curiosity. No group more than contemporary junior tennis players best define our publication’s slogan – learn, compete, improve.
As we put this issue together, we realized that it was best to create stories that worked from the ground up. While it’s easy to find lots of stories about the swing path – and several of this month’s “Classics” do just that – what happens with the feet is the overlooked locomotive fueling everything. As a baseball coach once told me, “We create the strike zone from a standing position. Tennis players need to make one while on the run.”
