Watanuke hits a first double fault on matchpoint against Hurcacz in Stuttgart 2023. What could he have been thinking and what is the right mindset on second serve matchpoint against you?https://youtu.be/JPJo-xdvWvs

Not practical, might backfire, but does maximize pressure!
Yes that certainly is an experiment or a line of thought in the right direction. A little less complicated might be to play points and punish a double fault iwith a loss of three points in a game to twenty. And build up the pressure with more extreme experiments for example that the one making double fault donates 50 dollars to Amnesty International or any other institution. Same system could be applied to any stroke for example donating money for every missed return on second serve. Important is that the coach discusses with the player what caused the mental process and pressure, what irrational thoughts came into play.
