Fonseca up 5-2 over Shapovolov in 2nd set, after losing 1st set. Last week, they played, it went to a 3rd set, Shapovolov was down 4-1 in 3rd, and Shapovolov quit, not impressing the crowd as he seemed to just lose interest in continuing.

Valentin Vacherot over Arthur Rinderknech...again. That's all. I spelled both correctly without cheating.

Carlos Alcaraz's improbable loss to local Cam Norrie 4-6 6-3 6-4 in the second round of the Paris Masters opens the door for Jannik Sinner to return to number one in the world before the Tour Finals in Turin with a title in Paris. Alcaraz's concise comment: 'I don't know what happened here’. Alcaraz has never done well on Paris' indoor courts and said in Riyadh that was an environment that troubles him. Highlight vid Alcraz vs Norrie Tennis TV YT 4:10 min; if nothing else watch his first passing shot from behind the concession stand with the hot dog cook, approximately.
          .
As for Cam, after peaking with a Masters shield at Indian Wells years ago, he slid to a lower plateau and stuck there for some time. Cam said he'd "Take it to him." and apparently being aggressive worked. That's a tactical change for a player that at his peak was known as a "lung buster" . If Carlos doesn't know which or what bothered him, far from me to guess.

After that great win in his first match back, Grigor had to withdraw.

Hope it's not serious. His injury is the type you expect NFL linemen to get, not tennis players.

"He wanted to send me home? I punished him": Bublik blunt after his victory over Moutet at the Rolex https://en.tennistemple.com/r/news_ifDK

I posted this in wrong thread. Bublik takes out Moutet, and really enjoyed doing so, as they had a bit of history of not getting along.

Tough out there, this does not happen a lot, but Norrie's metrics looked better than Vacherot, but Vacherot won in 2.
