What exactly is the relation to tennis with the music video this month? I don't get it.

Music Video "Underground Hood" the Johnny Smythe Band
Underground what? Johnny who? Why is this completely unknown band and its completely unknown music video appearing on my favorite tennis site? Well, look closely at the lead singer (and song writer.) Smythe isn't his real last name, although it is his wife's, and yes, he did play genius tennis once, and in fact still does on the senior tour. Several years ago John McEnroe and I had a couple of drinks and decided to produce a music video of the band he put together to record his first album. It's a long story, but there is no album. But a music video? Yes. And Johnny Mac did write that song. An obscure side plot in tennis history to be sure, but I felt posterity needed to know. -
I am schocked because the singing is pretty good and the song is too.Comment
