Use crayons to reduce friction on cross strings

Just use these in the impact area, as you can see by the deepest notches in your string bed, and they will affect the snap back rate/grab of your string bed by reducing friction at the intersection of the crosses/mains. Trial and error will tell you how often, how many strings to attain the best string spin/control rate.

Play down if you want to win

LIke Allen F. says, winning builds confidence, at least as long as they don't kick you up a level!

Shadow swinging to change a bad stroke form

Go out twice a day, and shadow swing the new form on a 1/4 mile walk or so, and use that ten minutes to swing several hundred times, using the correct form without hitting the ball, rain or shine. Discipline is needed to reform/correct muscle memory and form new memory, and thousands upon thousands of new swings to do so.

            Smash or poke

Either you love to smash the ball or you can't. No pusher can ever smash the shot. Their whole game is to poke and take no risk, and let you smash it. When they win, they gloat as if they are better than the hitters. No pusher is ever better than a hitter. Gutless victory is not worth having. Cowardly winning is without merit what so ever. You don't have to respect a style that takes no risk, and when they face someone who can kill the ball, and is consistent, there is no plan B. They lose 0 and 0, or win one bad game. They stay in the shadows of recreational B ball where they belong, shameless and gutlessly in the dark.

All playing styles are legitimate and should be respected. Why not push the ball around and let dimwitted opponents hit balls out? I've both serve and volleyed my way to victory and pushed my way to the finish line too. It's about weighing up what will defeat your opponent. Pitting your wits is what makes tennis so enjoyable...for everyone...on all levels.

there are two ways to win a match:

Out play your opponent or find ways to make your opponent.

                  The heavy ball

Cannot be hit without adding a lot of lead tape, whether polarized (at the head and throat) or depolarized (at 3 and 9), or all the way around the head (what I prefer), today's frames esp. babolats are too light to be able to hit a ball that is heavy on serve or ground strokes. A large coil and fast uncoil is also required. A lot of time waiting for your shot, so fast footwork too!
