    The only real surprise for me was seeing Edberg fairing better on hard courts than on grass. He finished lower than Roddick on grass...weird.

    I thought Sampras might have scored higher on all surfaces. I imagine his poor clay record is at the root of this. But then Becker was poor on clay also.

    I guess Borg features very high as he retired at his peak. Would his failed come back figure in these statistics? I was a little surprised to see McEnroe feature higher than Borg on grass. I though Mac had lost more times on grass.

    I just wonder where the current crop will finally rank when their careers are finished...be interesting to see. Djokovic should creep up you would think while Federer may roll down a slot or two. Nadal may never achieve the list on grass it seems.

      Would not have thought Borg to be higher on grass than Sampras...

        Borg served and volleyed just as much at wimby. He used a 410g frame strung with gut at 80lbs. Sampras: 389g at first: 59/61, then: 73/71lbs.
