    i know, i found it,... but you were asking (in this thread) how to improve the site... to me the reference to "part 3" in 2 newsletters seemed like a bug.

    will do.
    haha, i didn't think there was an "optimum stance" for serving, but i had hoped the article would discuss the pros/cons of platform vs. pin point, and things in between... either way i couldn't find it.

    in general it's hard to find stuff in here... being new to the forum, i don't mind clicking on everything, because intend to read every article... but later, if you intend me to keep paying for this, i need to be able to find stuff quickly, kinda like an instructors reference manual... i don't want to spend 45m trying to remember where i read that thing...
    would be nice if the left hand pane also drilled down into which articles are in it...
    currently we need to click on it, which opens up in the right hand pane
    being a tech guy, it also seems like it's doing a server side request to get the page information, so it's not gonna feel "snappy" navigating everywhere

    if you're not gonna fix the menu navigation (ie. might need to switch to some sort of client side framework which could cost $), then maybe upgrade the search box to have elasticsearch behind it, and tag everything (better context searches)

    my $0.02... in general i do understand the ROI decisions being made to not improve navigation.

    [edit] like i'm trying find the article "optimum stance"...
    * left hand search didn't help
    * top-of-the-forum search didn't help

    would also be nice to allow comments/conversation directly under/on the articles themselves. now i understand why you start a forum thread to start discussion about an article... but it'll get lost for new members reading it for the first time.... there's a huge amount of value add in being able to read the article, then view/participate in the comments afterwards (eg. maybe i didn't understand the way it was writtent, but in the convo i'll see how folks are interpretting thigns)... if you can't make the discussion thread appear directly under an article... then update the article to point to a link to the forum discussing the article...

    John, I feel it would be helpful to have a search function for the various articles. Would avoid having to ask questions already answered.

    Have you got a url for the first one? Who is the author? For the second one is it the article or just the link to go to the Forum to discuss? Thanks!
