One Handed Backhand Grips

The one handed backhand is the most elegant shot in tennis and some say one of the simplest. In some ways this is true, but not when it comes to the grips. There are probably 6 different forehand grips in the pro game. The surprising fact is that there are probably 6 different one handed backhand grips as well. These can generally be divided into two groups, classical and extreme. What top players use which and how do we define them? In this first article on the one hander in my new teaching series, let's take a close look at the range of one handed grips and see the checkpoints that identify them!
