Sven Groeneveld:
Overcoming Resistance

Sven Groeneveld

When I heard Sven Groeneveld speak at the Wimbledon coaching conference this June I was particularly struck by his approach to overcoming resistance to coaching ideas from the elite players he has worked with. After his talk I had the chance to ask him to explain it for our subscribers. You may be surprised at what he says. This information is valuable for coaches, but I think it extrapolates to players fighting with themselves over their own barriers to change and improvement.

Sven Groeneveld has been one of the leading pro tour coaches in the world during the modern era. Sven coached Monica Seles, Mary Pierce, and Ana Ivanovic to Grand Slam titles. He has worked directly with Andy Murray, Fernando Verdasco, and Caroline Wozniacki among many others through the Adidas Player Development Program. Not to mention heading Swiss tennis coaching during the teen years of a player named Roger Federer. Sven is also the visionary founder of Orange Coach, the online tour coaching organization.
