Robbie Koenig:
Secrets to Novak's Success
Interviewed By John Yandell
Why is Novak Djokovic Dominating Rafael Nadal?
If you have had the good fortune to listen to Robbie Koneig on the Tennis Channel or his more regular gig on TennisTV.com, you know he is one of the most knowledgeable commentators in the game, and unlike so many of the "name" personalities is actually concerned about what is going on the match, instead of rehashing the glory days of the matches these big names played decades ago.
Robbie understands why players win points and win matches. So we were excited to catch up to him in Cincinnati and get his take on how Djokovic had developed his amazing baseline dominance of Nadal. Think you will find it fascinating...
Something you might not know about Robbie, because he doesn't trumpet it on air, is that he had elite tour results in doubles, reaching the semi-finals of the U.S. Open in 1998. And during his singles career in the challengers he also had some wins over a few players you may have heard of: Yevgeny Kafelnikov, Pat Rafter, and Tim Henman. Not generally known but impressive to me.
